Federal Roads: Amosun seeks refund to Ogun

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has called on the Federal Government to refund money spent by his government on the rehabilitation of federal roads across the state.
Amosun made this call while receiving members of the Senate Committee on Works, who were in the state to assess federal road projects, in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office yesterday.
He appealed that the request be captured in the 2019 budget, saying the refund will enable his administration construct more roads in the state.
The governor commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the attention given to the rehabilitation of the Lagos/Ibadan express road as well as the Sagamu/Ore/Benin road and urged the Federal Government to cede some of its roads across the state to his government for construction.
Earlier, Chairman of the commitee, Senator Kabiru Gaya, said the purpose of their visit was to assess the state of the federal and state roads under construction in the state.
Speaking with journalists after inspecting some of the roads, Gaya expressed satisfaction with the level of road works executed by the Amosun government, commending the governor for an impressive performance.
He assured that the Federal Government would meet the request for the refund made by the governor and also assist the state government meet the demands of the people.
