Femi Fani-Kayode gets little pity as EFCC surrounds Abuja home

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode’s house in Abuja (Federal Capital Territory) is currently under siege by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This is after the EFCC had earlier today, Friday, May 06, 2016, invited Fani-Kayode to report at the agency’s Abuja office on Monday, May 9, for questioning. The invitation letter was signed by Mohammed Umar Abba on behalf of the Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, and was delivered to the former Minister in his Abuja home.

Fani-Kayode has, however, cried out that inspite of acknowledging the invitation through his lawyers, the anti-graft agency intends to immediately detain him.

He wrote on his Facebook page, “Today the EFCC invited me to come to their office on Monday. I have their letter. I agreed to be there. Now they have surrounded my house.”

“The letter of invitation was served this morning and it was dated 6th May. They said I should report on the 9th. They can’t even wait because they want to detain me so badly and keep me away for the weekend. I never refused their invitation. Why all this? I leave them to God.”

Nigerians have reacted with indifference to his predicament however, judging by the comments below…
