The funeral of Olufemi Enitan Segun, polyglot and ultimate master of ceremonies, has been fixed for Friday, March 28, 2014, in Lagos, family sources confirmed to ENCOMIUM Weekly yesterday.
The rites will begin on Thursday, March 27, 2014, with a Service of Songs at The Quadrangle, Millennium Housing Estate, Lekki Peninsular Scheme 1, Victoria Island, Lagos, at 6 p.m.
The funeral service is at House on the Rock, The Rock Cathedral, Rock Cathedral Drive, opposite Oando Filling Station, 4th Roundabout on Lekki-Epe Expressway (Kilometre 11), Lekki, on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 10 a.m.
Interment is at Vault & Gardens, behind Voice of Nigeria, Ikoyi, Lagos, shortly after the funeral service.
Femi Segun, 56 this year, died on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos), following complications from injuries sustained a week earlier in a power bike accident in Lekki Peninsular Scheme 1.
He reportedly suffered spinal cord, head and leg injuries.
Once married to the daughter of Afrobeat king and iconoclast (Fela Anikulapo-Kuti), Segun and Yeni Kuti have a daughter, Rolari who is about 25.
With his judge wife, Bisi Segun, they have another daughter, Fikemi, 13.
Loved by many, Femi Segun turned a giant in death with eulogies across the globe raining on him. The suave and urbane gentleman who started his career as a diplomat, later worked in a bank before starting a private business, Coltrane.
He became more popular when he hosted Morning Ride, and anchored many A-list events.
Adored and admired, Femi Segun, son of legendary writer of children’s books, Mabel Segun, will not be forgotten by hundreds whom he touched with his warmth.
