-Colleagues, brother eulogise diligent nurse murdered with 14 months old baby
Tears rolled freely and the eulogies kept piling as the service of songs in honour of late Mrs. Ebele Jane Beluchukwu-Ndirika, who was killed during the Festac robbery attack was held at her residence at Block 8, 4th Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos, on Thursday, October 22, 2015.
The 36-year-old nurse at the Alimosho General Hospital where she worked for more than four years, along with her baby of just over a year old, Mmesoma were hit by bullets right in her living room on the third floor of the residence when robbers invaded two banks in the area on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
Her sudden demise, captured by her obituary poster which read Painful loss of a Pearl, came as a big shock to the family who were clearly still reeling from the pain when ENCOMIUM Weekly visited the three-storey residence on Thursday, October 22, 2015. Her husband, Peter Ndirika was too distraught to speak as family members and extended relatives surrounded him to provide solace.
The service of songs was broken into two sessions; the first conducted by her colleagues from Alimosho General Hospital which started at about 2:30pm with students from the School of Nursing, Igando also present.
In their tributes, the nurses described Mrs Ndirika, who had previously worked at Badagry General Hospital as a hardworking and diligent nurse, who always wore a smile and never complained.
The students chorused the nurses’ sentiments in their own tribute, albeit tearfully, with one recalling that her only encounter with the deceased led her to declare to herself that she would want to become a nurse just like her when she graduates.
The second session which started at around 4:30pm was conducted by Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) House of Prayer Parish also at her residence.
She leaves behind her middle-aged husband and about five-year-old son. Her burial holds tomorrow (Wednesday, October 28, 2015) at her hometown, Dimboko Village, Umuoji. Anambra state.

How would you describe her?
She was a role model, she lived an exemplary life. She was the best, even among the best. Call her a blessing to this generation.
What are some of the memories of her that you hold dear?
There’s no specific one because every second I spent with her was so dear to me; she’s fun to be with.
