The new trailer for Sam Taylor-Johnson’s movie, Fifty Shades of Grey, has driven up the number of searches for sex toys on the internet, according to a report.
The 150-second clip features Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan, as he meets Anastasia Steele, portrayed by Dakota Johnson and then her slow descent into his figurative and literal dungeon.
The seductive film isn’t out until Valentine’s Day 2015 but one online retailer has reported a 55% increase in searches for sex toys in the 24 hours since the full length footage went live.
Fifty Shades of Grey, which is based on the best-selling novel by EL James, details the relationship between a naive young student and a sexually experienced entrepreneur, and contains scenes depicting BDSM – Bondage & Discipline, Dominance & Submission, Sadism & Masochism.
