Filmmaker Alain Gomis and Femi Kuti at The New African Shrine on June 11 2017

Granit Film and Institut Français Nigeria are proud to announce the screening of FELICITE by Alain Gomis on Sunday 11 June 2017 at 6 :00 pm at The New African Shrine.

FELICITÉ is the fourth feature film by the Senegalese French filmmaker Alain Gomis who recently won the Golden Stallion for the Best African Film at FESPACO 2017 and the Silver Bear, Grand Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The screening will be followed by a concert by Femi Kuti. The admission is 500 Naira for both the film and the concert.

 

NIGERIAN TOUR: The Shrine event will be the acme of a week tour of Nigeria by Alain Gomis who will be sharing his experience with students from Jos, Ibadan and Lagos.

Indeed, three master class will be held on the 6th of June at the Nigerian Film Institute at Jos and then, on June 8th at the University of Ibadan to end with the PEFTI in Lagos on the 9th of June.

Synopsis

Félicité, a strong and proud woman, sings in bars in Kinshasa. She drifts away from reality when her 14-yearold son gets into an accident. In electric Kinshasa, she wanders in a world of music & dreams… until love unexpectedly brings her back to life.
