‘Finding someone that loves you for who you are is great’ – JUSTICE NUAGBE

NAIJA FM OAP, comedian and actor, Justice Nuagbe, well known as Ushbebe, is set to wed his longtime girlfriend, Annette Osa Agbontaen.  She’s a graduate of International Relations from the Benson Idahosa University and is from Ovia North East in Edo State.  Their traditional wedding is slated for Friday, October 18, 2013, while the white wedding holds on Saturday, November 23, both in Edo State.

ENCOMIUM Weekly had a chat with them on Thursday, September 12, 2013, on how their paths crossed and preparations for the nuptials.

How does it feel to find love?

It feels really great.  My joy knows no bounds, finding a love that loves you for who you are.

How did your paths cross?

Sometime in 2009, I met her through my friend, Elenu. I told her how I felt but she was involved with someone else.  So, we just stayed as friends and now we are here.

Would you say it was love at first sight?

It was, because at the first sight I was attracted to her, even when we hadn’t started dating.  After the first request, I kept her in a special place in my heart and when the time was right, I connected the rest.

So, what exactly attracted you?

Her personality.

What do you cherish most about her?

I am not taught to cherish a part in a whole. I am of the school of thought that says every part completes the set.  So, I cherish her in her fullness.

So, how did you propose to her?

I asked her quietly to marry me at a friend’s wedding.  Her smile and joy told the story.

Could you briefly tell us about her?

Her name is Annette Osa Agbontaen, a graduate from Benson Idahosa University, a very focused and caring lady.  She helps organize and arrange me and she’s my friend.  She is my everything.

What made you take the decision of spending the rest of your life with her?

I have seen a lot of stuff and people before now. I had been in a relationship where differences stood in the way of going to the next level, and sometimes God has his own way from what we plan or what we have.  So, when I got the chance to have her in the relationship I long admired, I didn’t delay. I knew from what we shared as friends that she had the patience to deal with my kind of person.  I popped the question, and here we are.  God is taking us there, all we pray for is for Him to be with us all the way.

When your family members met her, what was their reaction?

They loved her.  My family is more concerned on what makes me happy and they found that I would never have been happier.

When you met hers?

I went through series of tough questions but as we moved on they fell in love with me too.  Sometimes it takes a little storm to get the bright out of a dull weather.  What will be will always be.

How many kids are you looking at?

That one is between my love, me and Baba God.

How did your paths cross?

I met him through my friend’s boyfriend then.  She’s now married to that boyfriend who happens to be Elenu.

Would you say it was love at first sight?

I won’t say it was love at first sight because when I met him I was seeing someone.  But as a friend he was kinder, cool and I would have agreed if I was not dating someone.  He is a really sweet guy.

Apart from being sweet, what else attracted you?

My small attraction to him was that he looked like Usher.  So, I always wanted to chat with him because of that too.  Only now he does not look that much like Usher again.  I guess real work has caught up with him.

So, how many kids would you love to have?

Honestly, I want like four kids because I like the thought of many children.  My husband and I would agree on that. I cherish the fact that he is always happy, that keeps me alive really.  Even when things seem down, he is hardly given to defeat.

Briefly, tell us about yourself.

I am Annette Osa Agbontaen, the first child and only daughter of my family.  I studied International Relations at Benson Idahosa University.  I just finished my youth service.
