King of Lagos night life who calls the shots at the prestigious D’Place by Papas niteclub, Lekki, Lagos, Mr. Frank Okamigbo is set for his birthday throw down which takes him yearly to Home of Destitutes, Okobaba, Ebute Metta, Lagos. This charitable event is on Friday, October 30, 2015, from 2pm.
We have it on good authority that the event has a dancing competition for the inmates, distribution of a large variety of gifts before the train moves to the Lekki, Lagos home of Papas as he’s fondly called.
NEWSCAFE’S FEMI AKANDE OFF TO UNITED STATES
Managing Director of Newscafe at Shoprite Mall, Lekki, Lagos, Mr. Femi Akande jetted out to the United States of America on Monday, October 12, 2015. We learnt from an inside source that the businessman will spend just a week in Uncle Sam’s land. We also learnt he’s gone over there for medicals and shopping.
FLAVOUR, FUNNYBONE, PENCIL AND OTHERS PLAY FOOTBALL IN FUN TURF
On the night of Thursday, October 15, 2015, spotted some celebs at the millionaires playing ground, Fun Turf, Lekki, Lagos.
They included Sexy Steel, comedian FunnyBone, music maker, Flavour, Okoloko Jnr, Pencil, Mr. Tito of Tino Electronics all sweating it out on the floodlight football pitch.
They trained ceaselessly until about 12:15am before they zapped off in their respective exotic rides.
BUBE OKORODUDU RENOVATES AUTO SHOWROOM
Mr. Bube Okorodudu, who owns two car show rooms on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, has closed down one for renovation.
Work was in progress when we visited the site on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at about 3pm.
We gathered that when the first showroom that was partly demolished is completed, work would start on the second one. All things being equal, the two auto marts would be completely renovated before the year runs out.
FOLAWIYOS TAKE DELIVERY OF NEW YACHT
On Friday, October 16, 2015, at about 3pm, at Queen’s Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos, we spotted the Folawiyos taking delivery of a yacht tagged FAFA. It was being towed into the Folawiyo jetty opposite the palatial home of the late patriarch of the Folawiyo family.
The beautiful lady is still on the low loader that brought her into the Folawiyo home when we left.
DLB RESTAURANT’S ELVIS OPALEKE OFF TO THE US
Managing Director of newly opened DLB Restaurant, on Admiratly Way, Lekki, Lagos, Mr. Elvis Opaleke is out of town on a business trip.
The six footer, we learnt, has travelled to the United States of America to procure culinary items for his kitchen. He’s expected back in two weeks.
B.RED AND FRIENDS ROCK AT D’PLACE BY PAPAS
On Tuesday, October 13, 2015, B..Red, an artiste on HKN Records label and cousin of music maker, Davido were spotted with some friends at D’Place by Papas nightclub, Lekki, Lagos.
B.Red and friends rocked the club until about 4:30am. Their main drink was Hennessy XO.
BAYO AMUSAN AT SYRIAN MOSQUE FOR JUMAT SERVICE
On Friday, October 16, 2015, at about 1pm, spotted Bayo Amusan, by the Syrian mosque on Ribadu Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. He strolled from his house very close to the mosque for the Jumat service.
Service was over after about 45 minutes. He was spotted again discussing with some men before they exchanged banters and dispersed.
EMEKA ODOGWU ON BIZ TRIP TO USA AND CANADA
Mr. Emeka Odogwu, S.I.O Executive Director with offices on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, is off to the United States of America and Canada to oversee the family’s business interests in those countries. Little wonder he travels overseas often.
We learnt he will be away for two weeks. Emeka is the second son of the serial entrepreneur, Chief Sunny Ide Odogwu.
GROTTOS’ ABIOLA ADEGOKE SURFACES AT D’PLACE BY PAPAS
Mr. Biola Adegoke of Grottos’ nightclub was spotted as he was being ushered into D’Place by Papas nightclub by Frank Okamigbo. This was on Friday, October 10, 2015, at about 2am.
They walked through the VIP entrance, and there the august visitor was given a lavish treat. If for nothing else, Biola Adegoke was out of the social radar for a long time, even before he put his nightclub under lock. Never knew when he left.
JENNIFER NJOKU VEERS INTO CATERING BUSINESS
Mrs. Jennifer Njoku, wife of Mr. Frank Njoku, last child of First Republic Minister of Transport and Aviation, Raymond Njoku, is venturing into catering business. She has acquired a property on Martin Street, Lagos Island and renovation is in progress.
By the speed of the renovation, we have every reason to believe the woman of taste can no longer wait for the business to take off.
IREDIA ASEMOTA OPENS SHOWROOM
Mr. Ireti Asemota, third son of Chief Sunny Asemota of Asemota Motors, who got married to a Ghanaian lady few years back, has opened a car showroom in Lekki, Lagos.
Spotted the bearded and beefy guy on Monday, October 12, 2015, at about 8am, at Lekki, Lagos.
He drove into Lekki in a customized new Mercedes Benz S500, 2015 edition. The car had no registration number plate. This aroused the curiosity of the police and they halted him. He was immediately left off the hook on self recognition.
