Media Content Distributors Association of Nigeria (MCDAN) is the largest media distributing association in Africa. It utilizes links with other partners in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Namibia, South Africa, among others.
Established five years ago, MCDAN registers, handles and coordinates all media contents/film distribution within and outside the country. The organization also organizes workshops, seminars, script, story readings, narrations, discussions, film screening that support Nigerian film and entertainment content distributions.
In a chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly, on Friday, May 2, 2014, MCDAN’s National President, Mr. Blessing Agofure explained that the organization which is a critical arm of Nollywood has also created a database of organizations and institutions across the world which include government agencies, financers, film funds, sales agents and film festivals to support film distribution.
Speaking further on the achievement of MCDAN, so far, Agofure said they are happy that filmmakers who could not afford to use popular faces for their productions for fear of rejection of the films by marketers now have the media space to operate and generate revenue.
He also praised MCDAN for selling Nollywood to the world through its multiple destruction platform.
On the issue of cinemas to enhance distribution, MCDAN assured they would partner with the private sector to establish community cinemas.
The organization, however, appealed to government to support film makers, through grants and creating a conducive environment that will promote creative enterprises.

Owner of G12 Bar, Mustapha Gattuso is set to reopen the lounge. We gathered that with the refilling of Oniru Beach, where the fun spot was located before the ocean surge, Gattuso will soon resume business. He has even reportedly reconstructed G12 Bar.
INI EDO SHOPS WITH KID BROTHER
Star actress, Ini Edo Ehiagwina was at Mega Plaza, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Tuesday evening (May 6, 2014). She came with her kid brother. Though we couldn’t ascertain what they eventually bought, they came in a grey LR 3 jeep with registration number, Lagos, AP 638 EKY.
JIDE MAJEKODUNMI RELOCATES OFFICE
Barrister Jide Majekodunmi has moved office. Formerly on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, the businessman now operates in Lekki, Lagos.
Majekodunmi who relocated office on Monday, May 5, 2015, has since resumed work in his new Lekki, Lagos office.
YINKA JOHNSON JETS OUT
Lagos businessman, Yinka Johnson has travelled out of the country. On a business trip, the importer of communication equipment could land in Japan and United Arab Emirates to purchase goods. He is expected back in about three weeks.
DAVIDO AND FRIEND STORM D’PLACE
Just back from Senegal where he was invited for a show, rave of the moment, Davido stormed D’Place by Papas on Saturday, May 3, 2014.
Davido, who arrived the lounge around 2:15am with a friend left at about 4am. He gave out $200 to the club bouncers before stepping out.
Relatedly, Davido and his HKN crew are currently in Dubai, UAE for a show. He would proceed to the UK from there while he is still expected back this week.

ELDORADO’S BOLAJI ESHO SIGHTED
Boss of defunct Eldorado, Bolaji Esho was sighted around Lekki Roundabout (Lagos) on the night of Friday, May 2, 2014.
He was driving a grey truck with a personalized registration number, Royal Family Epe but had to pull over by the road side to chat up a lady friend who was also driving by.
