METRO 97.7FM STAGES FYNE 1.0 MUSICAL CONCERT
All roads on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, lead to the Shell Hall of MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, as the premier FM station in Nigeria, Metro 97.7FM stages a classy end-of-year music concert for clients, listeners and friends.
Artistes billed to perform include Timi Dakolo, Yemi Alade, MC Galaxy, Praiz,Salvador Sango, Solo Urete, Olu Jazz, Simi, Oge Kimono, among several others. Koffi, the comedian, is the host.
The event starts with a red carpet at 5 pm, while the show proper begins at 6pm.
According to the organisers, this is the first time the recently rebranded FM station would be hosting a concert of this magnitude. The concert aptly tagged, FYNE 1.0 will afford clients, listeners and friends of the wave- making radio station the opportunity to enjoy music that cuts across all genres in a relaxed ambience
According to a release signed by the General manager of Metro 97.7FM, Miss Cordelia Okpei, FYNE 1.0, an acronym for Flavours You Naturally Enjoy is a series borne out of the newly rebranded tag-line of Metro 97.7FM.
The dreadlocks- wearing Delta-born broadcaster equally added that “FYNE 1.0 is the first of the series of music concerts Metro FM hopes to present annually to her esteemed clients, listeners and the general public. Indeed at the all flavours concert, there is something for everyone and metro has got you covered.”

TBS, LAGOS BANQUET HALL COMMISSIONED
On Thursday, December 11, 2014, the remodelled 1000- seater TBS (Tafawa Balewa Square) Banquet Hall was commissioned.
In a well- attended event that saw the Director General,Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) Mr. Benjamin Ezra Dikki unveiling the facility, the Chief Executive Officer, BHS International Limited (concessionaires of TBS) Otunba Olu Adenobi, said it’s just a tip of the icebag. He went on to unveil their plans for the New TBS City.
Otunba Adenobi, however, lamented the negative effects the tussle between the Federal Government (FG) and the Lagos state Government had on their vision and projects. He hoped that the intervention and resolution of FG through the National Council on Privatization (NCP) would be in the interest of stakeholders even as it might replace the lost last five years and restore investor confidence in the concession.
In his speech, the BPE DG hailed the BHS team and TBS Management Board (TBSMB) for their faith and commitment in the TBS project. Dikki also noted that the commissioning of TBS Banquet Hall is yet another important milestone that justifies the privatization program of the FG and President Jonathan’s transformation agenda at the gathering that included Hon. Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and Mrs. Victoria Archibong, Executive Director, BHS and widow of the founder of BHS, Fred Achibong, the MD, TBS management board, Alhaji B U Ja’afaru, among other personalities.
BHS led by late Fred Archibong, a famous artist, emerged the preferred bidder of TBS in 2008. His dream to transform the sleeping national heritage/edifice was cut short by his untimely death and politics of ownership of the landmark multi- million dollar tourist facility. Now, the team led by city lawyer, Otunba Adenobi has kicked off the development of the much- awaited New TBS City with an ultra modern BHS/TBS Banquet Hall.
