Former BBA contestant, MELVIN ODUAH escapes auto crash

FORMER Big Brother Africa contestant, Melvin Oduah has every reason to be grateful to his Creator.  The unassuming dude was involved in an auto crash that could have claimed his life and that of the driver but they came out unhurt.

Speaking in a phone chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Monday, May 4, 2015, the dude said, “I thank God for His mercies.  It is just God that kept me.  If not, I don’t know what people would have been saying now.”

We further asked him what caused the accident.  He said, “I think the tyre that was affected was weak.  It just burst and the driver lost control.”

Speaking on the lesson learnt from the ordeal, “We should make God first in everything.  There are accidents that are not serious as the one I was involved and people ended up with spinal cord injury.  Some even died.  When we go out and come back safely, we need to appreciate God for the gift of life.  He deserves the praise.  There is just a split second between death and life.  So, give God the glory for that gift.”

The actor cum model had a guest appearance on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Benin, Edo State.  He went to board a flight en route Benin but was told there was no aviation fuel.  He had to hire a car after Aero Contractors refunded his money.  Just as they were approaching Ore, Ondo State, one of the back tyres blew off.  The driver lost control and ran into a bush.  The car hit a culvert before somersaulting.  However, the two passengers came out of the car without a scratch.  Melvin’s tablet and sunshades and other items were in perfect shape.

Melvin Oduah was one of the contestants of the eight edition of Big Brother Africa tagged The Chase.  He ended up as the first runner up.  He has also participated in other reality shows, Gulder Ultimate Search, Mr. Nigeria, where he performed excellently too.  He is now into acting and still pursuing his modeling career.  He also makes guest appearances at events.
