Fourth time lucky for Gen. Buhari? How he failed in his past 3 attempts to become president

Gen. Muhammed Buhari yesterday (Thursday, December 11) clinched the ticket to fly the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) flag in the 2015 presidential elections after garnering 3,430 votes at the National Convention of the party held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The former military ruler floored other aspirants including Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwakwanso (who scored 970 votes); former vice president, Atiku Abubakar ( 954 votes); Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha (620 votes) and publisher of Leadership newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah (with a measly 10 votes).

However, this is not the first time the military general is getting a chance to face-off in the main presidential elections as he has done so three times before; but on each of the occasions, he was emphatically floored. encomium.ng takes a look at his losses in previous presidential elections…
