Freed Chibok girl, Amina Ali Nkek meets family

The Chibok girl, Amina Ali Nkek who was rescued from Boko Haram terrorists yesterday after two years in captivity has been briefly reunited with her family, according to community leader Ayuba Alamson.

He told AFP news agency that soldiers brought Amina to Mbalala town, near Chibok, and took her away after her family confirmed her identity.

Amina was 17 when abducted two years ago.

Similarly, the chairman of the Chibok Parents Association in Abuja, Mr. Tsambido, has told Focus on Africa radio that he had spoken on the phone to vigilantes who found the girl, who he named as Amina Ali, in Sambisa forest in north-eastern Nigeria last night.

Mr. Tsambido said, as I called the leader of the vigilantes, I heard in the background people were shouting and jubilating.”

He said that Amina Ali was found with a baby by vigilantes doing a patrol, and had been handed over to the Nigerian military. She was out collecting firewood and her condition was OK, Mr. Tsambido added.
