Funke Akindele confirms May 26 wedding ‘All I need now are your prayers’ + Intimate details of the man who stole her heart

TALENTED Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has found her own man –and both are scheduled to begin their journey into matrimony on Saturday, May 26, 2012!

The man who plans to spend the rest of his life with the bankable thespian is property developer and politician, Kehinde Oloyede, who is in his early 40s.

Lately, the lovebirds have been seen at few events –and speculations about their romance gained ground, with a few reports linking Oloyede as the mystery man in Akindele’s life.  At AY’s blockbuster comedy show on Easter Sunday (April 8), where the actress was one of the performers, Oloyede was with her.

And at the industry night, in March 2012, at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, the lovers were again together.

Sources maintained that Akindele and Oloyede have known themselves for many years –but went their separate ways, only to reunite many months back.

“When they first met, their romance was strong and was leading somewhere,” an insider informed.  “But there were a few unresolved issues –and they had to part ways.  Even way back then, both were very fond of each other.

“When they got back together again, they decided to take their love to the next level, taking the plunge to go the matrimonial avenue.”

And both families were informed about their plans.  On Saturday, May 26, the traditional leg of their marital rites will be staged in Ikeja, Lagos, with only close family members and associates in attendance.

When we called the gifted actress in the morning of Sunday, May 13, 2012, she confirmed that indeed she was getting married to the man that means the world to her.

“Yes, it is true I’m getting married on May 26, 2012,” she gushed.  “We will do the introduction and traditional engagement that day, and in December conclude the ‘white’ wedding.

“All I need now are the prayers of my fans and friends.  We don’t want any elaborate or loud ceremony.”

We gathered that Kehinde Oloyede who contested for a House of Representatives seat in Lagos in 2003 and 2007 elections under the banner of People’s Democratic Party, is now a card carrying member of Action Congress of Nigeria.

“In his early 40s, he has children –but he’s not married,” an insider stated about the man who reportedly attended Mayflower School, Ikenne (Ogun) and the University of Jos (Plateau).

Star of Jenifa and Omo Ghetto, Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele, from Ikorodu (Lagos) is 34 –and a lawyer (with a degree from the University of Lagos, but yet to proceed to Law School).

She began her acting career over a decade ago, and gained recognition with her role as a student in ‘I Need To Know.’  After some appearances in English movies, she pitched her tent with the Yoruba genre –and began to rise after several years of hard work.  Fame beckoned with Ojo Ketala, her own movie.  And Jenifa, Return of Jenifa and Omo Ghetto Part 1 and 2, catapulted her to the top of her career.  With endorsements with Glo, and a few other brands, she’s on top of her game.

Now, after several years of not being identified with any man, Funke Akindele has found joy in her relationship with Kehinde Oloyede.  And now, marriage is the next step which they are boldly taking on May 26, 2012.
