Funke Etti celebrates birthday with the less privileged

“It’s just to show appreciation to God”, she says

Top Yoruba actress cum film maker, Funke Etti, added another year on Monday, April 25,2016 – and the beautiful role interpreter is happy and very joyous about it.

Although, the thespian didn’t roll out the drums for the birthday celebrations, the day was only marked in a special way.
Etti, an industry source told encomium.ng, went to party with the less privileged on Kano street, Ebute Meta, Lagos, in company of some of her colleagues, where she doled out cash, food items, clothes, shoes and some other gifts worth thousands of naira.

“Funke Etti celebrated her birthday yesterday, but with destitute on Kano street, Ebute Meta, Lagos. A lot of people accompanied her to the place, especially her colleagues. She was very happy. Although, she didn’t disclose her new age, I don’t think she can be less than 36.”

Among her colleagues who attended the giveaway party included Saidi Balogun, Kemi Afolabi, Tayo Odueke (Sikiratu Sindodo), Kudirat Ogunro, Liz Da Silva and others.

Speaking with encomium.ng on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, the Lagos born actress expressed appreciation to God for the additional year. She added that celebrating her birthday with the less privileged was an avenue to show gratitude to God instead of organizing a birthday bash.

“I thank God for adding another beautiful year. Also, being among those bubbling despite the hardships in the land, I need to be very grateful to God. And the only way to show that is to reach out to the needy in my little way which was exactly what I did yesterday. I thank God for everything. I am also sincerely grateful to all my colleagues and friends who were with me throughout yesterday.”
