The 2016 presidential election in Ghana kicked off on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. With over seven presidential candidates, the race for the seat is clearly between the incumbent President, John Mahama, 58, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Nana Akufo-Addo, 72, of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to reports making the rounds, Akufo Addo currently leads with over 4 million votes, while Mahama trails behind with over 3 million votes from 206 constituencies.
But on the official twitter handle of the Ghana’s electoral commission, the results are yet to be released.
