Glo-sponsored African Voices celebrates African Photographers

The 30-minute magazine programme, African Voices, sponsored by the national telecommunication company, Globacom, on the Cable News Network, CNN, will this week celebrate two African photographers who have distinguished themselves in the still profession

In a press statement in Lagos on Friday, Globacom said the programme would feature Ghanaian photographer and filmmaker, Carlos Idun-Tawiah, and Brian Otieno, a photo-journalist from Kenya.

Born in Ghana,  Idun-Tawiah,  graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Accra.  He is presently a partner at Lightning Pathways Company, an expanding practice of gifted photography practitioners. Through his expertise as a professional photographer and filmmaker, he has succeeded in promoting Ghana’s image positively across the Globe.

Earlier in 2020, he was contracted by Mercedes-Benz, alongside four other top photographers to showcase Ghana, through story telling as an emerging nation and its generational skills sharing talent.

The second guest, 27 years old Otieno, aka Brian Jaybee , is a Kenya- based freelance photojournalist and documentary photographer. He is also a photography correspondent for the country‘s most respected news magazine, The Star, based in the Coastal Region of Kenya.

He is very popular for championing important societal ills including female genital mutilation.

African Voices comes up on DSTV Channel 401 at 9.30 a.m. on Saturday, while repeats will be aired on Sunday at 4.30 a.m., 7.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. and on Monday at 5.30 a.m.
