Glo takes Timaya, Flavour to UNIBEN for Campus Storm Thursday

The University of Benin will be next to receive Glo Campus Storm, the signature music concert packaged and taken around university campuses  in the country by telecoms company, Globacom.  The event holds at the school’s In-Door Sports Complex on Thursday December 8, 2016.

Glo Campus Storm has passed through eight institutions since October 7 when the 2016 edition kicked off. The campuses that have experienced the Storm are University of Port Harcourt; University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus; Federal Polytechnic Nekede; University of Uyo; University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and the Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, where the event took place last week.

The concert  brings to students some of Nigeria’s biggest music artistes, comedians and disc jockeys. The event also leaves behind testimonies of changed circumstances as ten students of the university, comprising  five males and five females, will stand the chance of winning up to N100,000 in the ‘Glo Campus Data Dude’ and the ‘Glo Campus Data Diva’ competitions.

In Benin, the company said, through a press statement, that two of the country’s biggest artistes, the “Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa”, Timaya, and the “Nabania” exponent, Chinedu Okoli, alias Flavour, will entertain the audience.

Jokes merchant, Bovi, will anchor the show, while one of Africa’s biggest disc jockeys, DJ Neptune, will be on duty. Also, up and coming artistes among the students will have the opportunity to entertain their fans on the campus, just as there will be dancing and singing competitions.

The telecoms firm stated that it was delighted with the wide acceptability the Glo Campus Storm concert has gained across tertiary institutions in the country since this phase started.  “The feedback has been that of great excitement and desire for more by the students and other fun lovers in the visited institutions and their environs”, the statement concluded.

Globacom pledged that the UNIBEN edition of the concert would be rewarding, adding that all the side attractions that have made the Glo Campus Storm successful in other locations will be available on Thursday at the school. “The show will be an unforgettable experience for all fun lovers on the campus”, Globacom stated.

The company encouraged students and other members of the UNIBEN community willing to be part of the concert to recharge their Glo SIM cards with Glo Campus Data Plan worth N500.
