Experience, they say, is the best teacher. Life becomes more meaningful when we learn from our mistakes and experiences. We spoke with successful Nigerians who have crossed the golden age about their greatest lessons, their  biggest mistakes, regrets and what they would have done differently if they had the chance…

funmi-ajila-702x3361‘Be diligent in all that you do’ -FUNMI AJILA LADIPO

Lesson: To be diligent at what you do. Don’t be a jack of all trades and master of none. Open your heart to knowledge. Never close your door to knowledge. We learn every day, don’t lose focus.

Mistake: I don’t think I have any. God has been good to me. He has given me things I wanted. I can’t put my finger on any mistake. I see any opportunity that comes to me as an avenue to learn more about life.

Regret: No, I don’t have any regret. I am grateful to God for everything He has done for me.

Turning the hands of time: Maybe, I would have loved to be attached to one of the greatest designers in the world because of my passion for designing. I would have also loved to have given my life to Christ earlier than this.

yinka-osobu1‘Life is full of surprises’ -YINKA OSOBU

Lesson: Never judge a book my its cover. Life is full of surprises.

Mistake: There are different mistakes, business wise and personally. Maybe some business choice I made.

Regret: One of the policies of life is never to have regret. We cannot change some things that happen, we just have to move on. Life has been good.

Turning the hands of time: I would have come back home earlier than I did. I would have listened to my father and be in Nigeria earlier. If I did, I would have been bigger. I would also like to be skinny. In my next life, I would ask God to make me skinny.

Lola-Idije-650x400-650x400‘Only God can give peace of mind’ -LOLA IDIJE

Lesson: To have peace of mind, you have to look up to God. Only in Him can you find peace.

Mistake: We are all not perfect, we would have made one mistake or the other at a point in time. I don’t’ jump to do anything. It is those that make haste in decision making that make mistakes.

Regret: I regret that I don’t have a mother any longer. I loved my mom so much, it would have been nice if she is alive. I also regret losing my only son.

Turning the hands of time: I love to be a pastor. I just love the ministry. If God blesses me more than this, I would build a church.
