Governor Aregbesola denies son’s arrest over money laundering – ‘It’s the handiwork of mischievous minds’

OSUN governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has rubbished social media report alleging that his son, Kabiru Aregbesola was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, with foreign currency equivalent to N178 million.

He described the report as not only false but malicious, urging the public to disregard the publication in its totality.

Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Monday, May 18, 2015, on the story, via his Director of Bureau de Publicity, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, the engineer turned politician expressed discomfort about the report, labeling those sponsoring it as mischief makers.

“I believe you also know it’s rubbish.  How can Governor Aregbesola’s son be involved in that?  That’s absolute lie.  I don’t think I need to react further on it.  I will only tell you what I have said…

“We have discovered that the authors of the wicked and malicious lies are doggedly pursuing their agenda by engaging in an aggressive push for the falsehood to reach a larger population, especially using the social media.

“The younger Aregbesola neither travelled anywhere nor had an encounter with any security personnel on Tuesday, May 12, 2015.  It’s obvious the evil minds at work are out to drag an innocent young man’s name into this dirt in order to get at his father.

“The governor has maintained a life of a moderate family man with highly disciplined children who can’t be found wanting on issues of moral and social values. The public should just dismiss the falsehood for it’s nothing but another handiwork of mischievous minds.”
