Greedy Senators: Should Nigeria #sackthesenate or not?

Nigerians have continued to express their displeasure with some actions of the Senate in the present administration in more ways than one.
The recent revelation that the Senate bought a total of 108 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV V6 2016 model at twice the original price, recklessly spending a whopping N3.8 billion of taxpayers’ money has not endeared them to Nigerians.
The senators’ lavish spending despite the current cash crunch so enraged the Nigerian Labour Congress that it described the cars purchase as a ‘crime against the people’.
The NLC also called on senators who received the cars to immediately return them or face the wrath of the Nigerian people.
“We consider appalling, insensitive and greedy the decision of the Senate to acquire 108 Toyota Land Cruiser jeeps (one for each member less the Senate President) after collecting car “loans” in August last year for the same purpose. It is equally morally despicable and shameful that they are doing this after publicly admitting that the standing committees of the Senate are unable to perform their statutory functions due to paucity of funds.”
Nigerians are now venting on social media with different suggestions being made on how to arrest the situation. While some are calling for the immediate return of the luxury cars, more radical calls are for the outright sacking of the entire Senate.
