On Saturday, December 3, 2016, renowned actor, Hakeem Rahman walked down the aisle with his younger lover, Deborah Isiomah Chikogwu at the prestigious Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event, which caught many unawares, was attended by the couple’s family members, friends and colleagues of the theatre practitioner who is said to be in his 60’s.
Among the attendees of the white wedding were Yemi Black, Bimbo Thomas, Fred Aminu, Akin Lewis and others within and outside the industry.
The first leg of the marriage, encomium.ng learnt, held days back at the residence of the bride’s father at Arowosegbe, Sogunle, Lagos, while the whole thing will be rounded off on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Ikeja Marriage Registry, Lagos.
Speaking with our editor on Thursday, December 8, 2016, the banker turned thespian expressed joy and excitement on the development. He equally gave God the glory for taking a woman to the altar at last.
“Yes, I got married on Saturday, December 3, 2016 and it’s a great day in my life. In fact, I was happy and excited taking a woman to the altar for the first time in my life. Not that I don’t have grown up children, but that’s the time God said I would do that. I give him the glory.”
