Halima Abubakar speaks on fibroid surgery

“It’s not a child’s play’, she says
Nollywood star, Halima Abubakar – who has just returned from India where she had fibroid surgery a couple of weeks ago – has recounted the near death experience. She added it’s not a child’s play.
Speaking with encomium.ng on Friday, May 19, 2017, the versatile role interpreter expressed gratitude to God for coming  safely out of what she described as a terrible experience after spending 11 days at Al-Shebab Hospital in New Dehli, India.
“First, I need to show gratitude to God for keeping me alive after all the trauma. It’s a terrible experience, not a child’s play at all. But no matter what I might have gone through, it has become history. I thank God for recuperating fast.
“I never knew I was that loved until when the news broke. I can’t just imagine the number of calls entering my phone, countless get well messages on all my social media pages, including Twitter, Instagram and all that from my fans, family, friends and colleagues. I am so grateful to them all for the kind of love and prayers they showered on me. May God continue to be with them.”
Speaking further, the Kogi born film maker said, “I was in the hospital for 11 days. The surgery was successful, but I had to recuperate very well before I could be discharged. I arrived Nigeria on Thursday, May 11, 2017. I first went straight to my family house in Kano where I spent a few days before coming to Lagos on Monday, May 15, 2017. I have since remained indoors. I have not stepped out. I still need some rest.”
On how much the surgery cost her, Abubakar said, “It’s surely not in hundreds or thousands, it’s in millions. But the most important thing is that it’s successful. Very soon, I will be back on my feet.”
