Happenstances from comedian Akpororo’s nuptials

ON Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Eagles Club, Surulere, Lagos, popular comedian, Bowoto Jephthah Oluwatiseyifunmi, who is known by the stage name Akpororo got married to the woman that means the world to him, Onuabughuchi Ijeoma Josephine.  The ceremony attracted a lot of witnesses as they marched hand in hand into matrimony.

ENCOMIUM Weekly was there and we bring to you tit bits from the event.

EVENT STARTED LATE

The event started really late.  The time on the invite stated 10 a.m, but the event didn’t start until about 1 p.m.  Guests who came early didn’t seem to bother waiting.

HOW THEIR MARRIAGE WAS BLESSED

The order of blessing was at the back of a marquee.  A small section at the back of the tent was arranged and decorated beautifully, with chairs on the left and right and an aisle for the couple and bridal train to walk through.  The other part of the tent was already amazingly adorned with tables and chairs in white and gold.

The opening prayer started at about 1 p.m.  The officiating ministers were Rev. Caleb Asuni of New Covenant Church, Ibadan; Rev. Wole Owolabi of New Covenant Church, Lagos; Rev. Shayo Akintola of New Covenant Church, London and Bishop Isreal Matthew.

The bride gracefully walked in with her bridal train while the processional hymn was being sang.

The exhortation, charge and declaration, solemnization of marriage, choir ministration, sermon and signing of marriage register followed.

The marriage blessing ended at about 2.40 p.m.

THE CARS THEY RODE IN

The bride, Josephine came in a metallic grey Range Rover Sports.  The groom, Jephtah was in a black Land Rover.

THE RECEPTION

Immediately after the church service, the couple took pictures with friends and families.  While that was going on, the back section, where the church service held was quickly rearranged to look like the other part of the hall.  After a while, everywhere looked more beautiful.

The reception proper kicked off at about 3.35 p.m.

The former first lady of Lagos State, Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola, who is known as a great supporter of entertainers, was equally present at the event, looking calm and graceful as ever.  No protocol and no airs, she really let her hairs down.

AY’S SURPRISE APPEARANCE

While the couple were dancing, Akpororo’s mentor, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, stormed the venue in a black T-shirt, black sweat pants and black faze cap with Jamaica inscribed in front of it.

AY wasn’t expected at the wedding as he had been in Jamaica filming a movie.  His entry sparked a lot of excitement and screams from the ecstatic groom.

AY also danced and sprayed the couple.  He came in at about 5.47 p.m.  We believe he came into the country early for Akpororo’s wedding.

AIRTEL CUSTOMER SERVICE POINT

Akpororo, being an Airtel ambassador, was honoured by the communication outfit as an Airtel service point was at the entrance of the marquee for sales of Airtel products and of course, goody bags for select guests.

Akpororo was hyper-active and overly excited throughout the ceremony.

He danced with so much joy at every given opportunity and as a comedian, he tossed guests up and collected the microphone and made remarks from time to time.
