Policemen investigating the culpable homicide case accompanied Lekan Shonde to the three-bedroom apartment he shared with his wife and two children, then four and six years old. The house was inspected as the suspect was interrogated.

Pathologists from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja handed over the autopsy report to Lagos Police Command. The Police didn’t reveal details of the report but there were speculations that Ronke died of myocardial infarction caused by acute respiratory seizure, bruises and water in the head.

Lekan Shonde was docked at a magistrate court in Ebute Meta before Mr. I.O. Adelaja.
He was remanded in prison custody in line with the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 246 (1) of Lagos State.
The charge sheet showed that Ronke Shonde was killed “by a blow to the head.”

Case was again adjourned to July 8 as the Director of Public Prosecutions didn’t present the case file in court.
And even on July 8, the case didn’t go on since the file was still not ready.
