Hip TV’s AYO ANIMASHAUN explains why he is passionate about content

Congratulations on the launch of Hip TV on DSTV.

Thank you very much.

How do you feel now that you have finally launched your channel on DSTV?

I feel very excited, it is a huge opportunity for us to provide unique content on that platform.  I feel very happy because we have worked on it for several years and it is a dream come true, that we are in millions of homes across the country and across the continent.

What is the next line of action?

For TV, to continue providing content and making sure people watch.  We are just starting and we have to prove we can do it.  And you know TV is like journalism, you have to be ahead of your task.  The target is news, news reformation. Our aim is about what best is happening and bring it to people.

Apart from the flagship programme, what other programmes should the viewers look out for?

We chose 30 programmes from different angles but they are all entertainment. Ones that are not entertainment look through issues from the celebrity or young man point of view.  From exclusive interviews, public announcement, I would say in concrete terms that the programmes are quite refreshing even though I have to say so myself.

Who are your target audience?

The youth and those that are young at heart are our target audience.

Now that you have finally launched your channel, what is happening to this year’s Headies Award?

It’s going to happen on Boxing Day, this December by the grace of God.  And the campaign will begin any moment from now.
