Homeless Romanians sleeping in Park Lane subway demand homes

A 40-strong gang of Romanian beggars who sleep rough in a subway under Park Lane (Central London) have today (October 17) demanded: ‘We’re EU citizens, give us houses and we won’t be here’.

The group have been accused by local business owners of turning the street into a ‘slum’ and driven away their customers as they mess up the place.

They have, however, said they are willing to pack up their cardboard boxes if Westminster Council found them homes.
