Hon. Alimi is the third Lagos Assembly lawmaker to die on duty

Late Kareem Ademola Alimi, aka Kadeco, the honourable member of Lagos House of Assembly who died on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, was not the first member of the Assembly to die in office since the advent of the Fourth Republic in 1999.
Two other members of the same Assembly have previously died too.
First to die was Hon. Buraimoh Amudaniju Yussuf, who was the Chief Whip of the 5th session of the Assembly then. He died on July 24, 2003. He also died at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH)  after a brief illness. He was aged 59.
Hon. Rotimi Olasiji Sotomiwa of Ikorodu Constituency 2,  also gave up the ghost while representing his people at the state Assembly. He died on Tuesday,  November 2, 2010, at a private hospital in Ikorodu area of the state, where he was rushed to when his situation got worse. He was buried on Friday,  November 5, 2010, at his homestead in Igbogbo, Ikorodu. He was 50 when he died.
