Popular Yoruba actor, Femi Adebayo was allegedly hospitalized after being attacked by hoodlums at Ilorin, Kwara state few days ago while shooting  a 13-episode series about cervical cancer entitled, Arun Jejere. Also in Ilorin for the series were top actors, Muyiwa Ademola, Fathia Balogun, Adebayo Salami, Bimbo Thomas, Eniola Badmus, Adekola Tijani, and Olaniyi Afonja. Following their refusal, the hoodlums attacked Adebayo and other members of the crew. When the police arrived the scene to stop the fracas, one person was shot.

According to information at ENCOMIUM Weekly’s disposal, Femi Adebayo, popularly known as ‘Jelili’, was among those injured and rushed to the hospital.

On Sunday, April 13, 2014, we tried his phone number severally but it was switched off. We later contacted one of the top actors at the scene, Muyiwa Ademola, and he confirmed the attacked but claimed Adebayo was not injured.

“Truly, hoodlums attacked us but no actor was injured.  It’s so sad that it has become a reoccurring incident that hoodlums now attack us at locations everywhere. They feel the money they demand is their legal right and even when you give them they are not satisfied. The incident occurred at Ilorin and it’s a slap on us and the state because it’s a state project. They have incurred the wrath of the state.”

Adebayo Olufemi Lateef, born in Lagos on December 31, 1972, is a native of Ilorin in Kwara State. He read law at the University of Ibadan. He is married to Fausat and the union is blessed with three kids. He is the CEO of J-15 Media Network Nigeria.
