‘I won my very first two career awards’ -ADESUA ETOMI
How would you describe 2015 career wise?
I would describe 2015 as a turning point in my career. God took me to heights that I did not expect. I think 2015 has been my most successful year. I have been a part of amazing films and television projects. I won my very first two career awards and I just got an Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2016 nomination in the Best Actress In A Drama category. It has been beautiful and I’m grateful to everyone who has been a part of my story in 2015, especially the people who watch and support my work.
How many movies have you featured in this year, can you mention some?
I shot seven films this year and three have been released. The first was Falling and it earned me my AMVCA 2016 Best Actress nomination and my ELOY 2015 Best Actress win. It went to the cinemas in September. Next was A Soldier’s Story, it made its cinema debut in October and the latest one is Out Of Luck, which is currently showing in Nigerian cinemas. The fourth project will be released in February 2016 and it is entitled Couple of Days. We shot that in Ibadan. Ayamma which is an Emem Isong Production is number five. It will also be out in 2016, but we don’t have a release date yet. The other two are 30’s and Autumn Leaves.
What would you attribute your success to?
I would attribute my success to God, hard work and persistence.
What should your fans expect in 2016?
A lot more of Adesua Etomi and by the grace of God even more growth.
