HOW MANY CLOTHES DOES A GENTLEMAN NEED? (PART 1)

We can’t draw an analogy to the piece: How much land does a man need?’ by Leo Tolstoy.

A gentleman needs enough clothes and accessories to fill work and leisure and play without appearing drab and cheap and colourless.

So, how many clothes should a gentleman have in his wardrobe?

Enough for 14 days of his life where he’s engaged in all the activities that make his pursuits worthwhile, without repeating anything!

That is, 14 ensembles for work, 14 ensembles for leisure and social engagements, 14 ensembles for play (casuals).

But the rule of 14 does not need implementation at once.  You can build your wardrobe in stages –starting with three, five or seven ensembles of the best quality you can afford…
