A new study by Canadian researchers has found that more than an hour on social media such as Facebook, WhatsApp or Snapchat disrupts sleep.
Commissioned to unravel why teenagers were struggling to sleep restfully for 8 hours, the researchers discovered that more than an hour on social media affected adolescents and teenagers. That the longer they stayed on their gadgets, the more disruptive their sleep.
Teenage girls were more addicted to social media, the study, which checked the use of social media among 5,242 10 to 20 year olds in Canada, found.
