How Uti And Saeon’s Romance Crashed Two Months Ago

Contrary to the claim by budding R ‘n’ B singer and songwriter, Seun Oni, better known as Saeon that the former Big Brother Africa (BBA) winner, Uti Nwachukwu is just a friend, ENCOMIUM Weekly’s findings have revealed that they both had a ‘relationship’, but only parted ways about two months ago.

Uti and Saeon had been in a sizzling romance for two years. They both agreed to keep their love story away from the public, in order to allow the fast rising singer focus on her career and avoid distraction until early this year, when the actor confirmed to have found true love in Saeon during an interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly.

In February, 2014, Uti said he met the Boogie-Down crooner in 2012 during the shooting of her music video. The liaison, he said, was facilitated by a mutual friend. The former BBA winner didn’t rule out the possibility of walking down the aisle with the highly gifted singer, but said it was rather too early to think in that direction.

The news went viral, and sources close to the erstwhile lovers said the singer wasn’t happy about the ‘unnecessary publicity’, even though she had featured Uti in one of her hit songs, Lie. Besides, the Baseline artiste also wrote Uti’s Bust My Brain.

Instead of confirming her undying love for the Jara presenter, Saeon denied the romance tale, insisting that Uti is just a friend.

In a chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly during her unveiling as Baseline artiste, Saeon said, “Uti is just a friend whom I have known for a couple of years. He’s an amazing person and very dedicated to work. We have been working together for years, and we are still working together.”

When contacted on telephone, the source, who didn’t want his name mentioned, said, “Uti was not happy about the revelation, but Saeon did nothing wrong. She was even tactical about it. She didn’t want to hurt Uti by telling the public that they’ve broken up. She only said, No comment when asked about her romance with Uti. The truth is, they dated, but parted ways few months ago.”

Asked what could have been responsible for the break-up, the source replied, “It could be you guys, I mean, the media! That’s only what I can say. I think Uti and Saeon should just take a bold step and tell the world why their relationship collapsed.”

Uti didn’t confirm nor deny the story when ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke with him on Sunday, August 31, 2014. He replied to our enquiry through an SMS, stating; “People should believe whatever will make them love and support us more.”

All our efforts to get Saeon’s reaction proved abortive. Her PR team declined to speak on the matter, saying, “She’s very busy right now.”

Uti Nwachukwu came to limelight after winning the 2010 edition of BBA All-Star. Since then, he has carved a niche for himself. He has featured in so many movies, anchored big shows, and appeared as a face for so many brands. At present, he’s the host of Star The Winner Is, packaged by Star Lager beer.

Saeon, a talented music star, began singing at 4. She went professional in 2009. She is into alternative R n’ B, rock, pop and a bit of rap. Saeon was the maiden winner of The Underground which showcases up and coming artistes. With over 50 songs, her most popular songs include Burst my Brain, Awada Erekere, Jara, Nek in Nek, Ara Remix, Boogie-Down featuring Wizkid, among others.
