‘I am not afraid of LADOJA’ – AJIMOBI

OYO governor, Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi has reaffirmed his confidence to win the forthcoming governorship election in the state, describing the former governor and Accord Party flag-bearer, Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja as a mere joker.

He further painted his current political moves to eject him out of office come May 2015, as nothing but wishful thinking.  Ajimobi also boasted of breaking the no second term jinx in the state.

Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Sunday, March 1, 2015, via his spokesman and Senior Special Adviser (SSA) on Media and Strategy, Mr. Festus Adeoye, the gap-toothed politician expressed optimism and confidence to retain his seat by winning the April 11, 2015 guber poll in the state.  He stated categorically that he’s not afraid of Ladoja’s desperate move to rule the state again.

“We are not in any way afraid of Ladoja.  Governor Ajimobi is confident of victory in the next governorship election.

“Oyo State people see Ladoja as a man of lies whose first term in office as governor of the state was ruined by governmental indolence.  His wife was attending to government files all through his tenure.  They cannot make the mistake of bringing back such a man who is again very arrogant and barely competent.  So, that’s the true situation of things as far as Oyo State is concerned.”

Asked to comment on the no second term tradition which some political pundits said may work against Ajimobi’s candidature as All Progressives Congress (APC) standard bearer in the election, Adeoye stated point blank: “I have told you, Ajimobi is confident of victory.  Again, no second term is a myth that he is about breaking.”

However, one of Ladoja’s close aides who preferred anonymity told ENCOMIUM Weekly that all is now set within the Accord Party and its numerous supporters across the state to ensure that Ladoja emerges victorious in the Oyo governorship race and be sworn in as the next number one person of the Pacesetter State come May 29, 2015.

“I can assure you, Ladoja’s victory in the forthcoming guber poll is very sure.  In Oyo politics today, Senator Ladoja is a force to reckon with and has remained a candidate to beat in the governorship race.  Apart from the fact that he is trusted by the Ibadan people as one of their illustrious sons, people from other parts of the state also have sympathy for him.  And that’s why they all concluded to give him their votes come April 11, 2015.

“At the moment, if I may tell you, the only candidate giving Ajimobi sleepless nights is Ladoja.  His formidable and intimidating structure and campaign all over the state are alone a sort of worry for the incumbent governor.  I think that’s why the APC in the state has chosen cheap blackmail and campaign of calumny with a view to driving a wedge between Ladoja and the good people of Oyo State which won’t succeed.

“Let me also say this, despite the fact that Ladoja left office as governor for about eight years, he still remains a topical issue in the politics of the state.  All because of his tested and trusted passion to serve his people well.  He is not a failed politician and he’s still coming back to take over the mantle of leadership of the state by God’s grace.

“Let me also quickly add this, you can’t serve consecutively for two terms in Oyo State.  I think the earlier Ajimobi accepts this as a fact, the better.  I believe by now, he should be getting ready to pack his belongings out of the State House because the people of Oyo State are warming up to usher in a fresh administration that will guarantee true and genuine dividends of democracy.”
