olukanniHow do you feel being the anchor on Season 7?

It’s amazing and an unbelievable feeling. I feel so glad. I never expected to do something like this so early in my career. I have been presenting for a year now. I worked for Moment with Mo as a co-host. But this is different. It will allow people see me in a new light because the other show is quite serious and more of a talk show.

MTN Project Fame is a reality show. I am shocked, excited and honoured.

When they contacted you, what was your initial reaction?

Basically, it was something I have always wanted to be part of. I came for an audition and I got the role.

What gave you an edge over others?

I think its my compassionate nature. During the talk show at Moment with Mo, it was a competition too. Hundreds of us were auditioned but I was picked. I went through the process. It might not be the reason I connected with the contestants, but once I see them on stage, I understand they have to follow their dreams. I connected by going for what I have passion for. My compassionate nature and following my dreams, gave me the edge.

How will you describe your first show on Project Fame?

It’s such an amazing thing that Adora was nominated as an anchor here. She once told me that I should enjoy my career and have fun. That has helped me to be myself. It was not easy when I stepped on the stage, but I had a good time because of the quality of the production.

You finished from Loyola University, USA and grew in four countries, how has the experience shaped your presenting skills?

Yes. I have a good childhood experience and grew in four countries. It allowed me to see things from different perspectives that allowed me to be a better presenter because I see people from their perspective. People like transparency and I ensure they see me as a transparent person and see me as hanging out with them in their sitting room.

hoys-Bolanle-OlukanniYour were cool, calm and calculated, what’s your unique selling point?

The selling point is that I have to enjoy myself and not act rehearsed. I ask questions people will like to know so as to flow along.  I don’t want to sound strange but someone they can call their friend and hang out with them in the house.

How much were you paid?

You know I can’t disclose that because it’s confidential.

Will you say this will take your career to the next level?

Definitely, I think so. It’s good to have money, but the major thing is adding worth to the great production. Project Fame will teach me a lot and will allow people see me in a different way. That alone is quite exciting.

What has been the pains and gains?

I love my job. I love learning the process. Till date, I don’t have any pain. It might sound impossible but it’s the truth. That’s also the gain.

Have you connected with Benjamin?

Yes. The good thing is that we have met before. He has been on Moment with Mo. We connected. He is a great guy and very helpful and encouraging too.

What has been your source of inspiration?

I am inspired by doing what I am paid for. I am inspired by the fact that I am an example to millions out there who have dreams and that their dreams can come true.

Can you tell us about yourself?

I am from Osun State. I am the last among three siblings. We are three girls. I am in my 20s. I moved to America for my university at 16. I am quite independent and a go-getter. I am not afraid of criticism.
