‘I don’t care what they say about my son’s paternity’ -Grace Amah explodes

STAR actress, Grace Amah is not ready to trade words with anybody as regards who is the father of her nine month-old son, Uchechukwu.  That was her reaction (on Saturday, December 10, 2011) when ENCOMIUM Weekly asked her to clear the air on the stories being bandied around that the paternity of her newly-born child is being seriously questioned.

“There is nothing to clear or resolve here.  Anybody can say whatever they want to say.  I know that I’m happy with my husband-to-be,” Grace Amah insisted.

The petite thespian also shared her joy as a mother, assuring us that raising her son won’t affect her career in any negative way.  She also talked about Nollywood with every sense of optimism.  And said much more in this chat…

Grace-Amahs-Baby-Boy2What are the joys of motherhood?

It’s really something else.  I’m really glad I have a baby now.  I will say I’m happy.  The joys of motherhood is indescribable.  The mystery is another topic.  Now, a life has successfully grown out of you.  And you have the responsibility of caring for it.

So, what has changed about Grace Amah now that she’s a mother?

Nothing really, except that I now have more responsibilities.  And something I would have overlooked before I now pay more attention to it.  I don’t overlook such things any more.  Like staying out late, whenever I’m out, I remember I have a child I’m taking care of.  And I have to rush back to the house.

You are back to Nollywood after your maternity leave?

Yeah, I am back.

So, what’s new?

Everything is new.  I have been around for two months now.  I started with Atlanta, a series now on air.  That is basically what is on ground right now.

The paternity of your son is still a subject of controversy.  Can you for the first time, clear the air on this?

There is nothing to clear or resolve.  Anybody can say whatever they want to say.  I know that I’m happy with my husband-to-be.  And I’m happy with my child.  We are all happy that we have him.

Are you wedding next year then?

By God’s grace.

What’s your husband’s name and can you tell us more about him?

I don’t need to disclose my man’s identity.  That’s my personal life.

What’s your baby’s name?

He’s Uchechukwu, your namesake.  He’s nine months old.

Do you envisage any challenge in combining family life with your acting career?

No.  I am combining it very perfectly.

There has always been Grace Amah.  What has sustained your stardom over the years?

It’s God.  Without whom I would have faded out long time ago.

So, what’s your recipe for success in Nollywood especially for the young ones?

They should pray and work hard.

What’s your assessment of Nollywood?

A lot of things are happening but it’s just a matter of time.  Things are certainly going to get better.

You have always wanted to be an actor?

Yes. I love Nollywood and nothing more.

But this is certainly not the Nollywood of your dream?

No, not at the moment.  But we are praying it gets better.
