Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus, popularly known as Gbogbo Big Girlz has reacted to criticism trailing her nose ring within and outside the industry. She stressed that wearing a nose ring is not an aberration as an actress and as such she remains unbothered about any public reaction concerning it.
The plus size actress, who has now lost a little weight, spoke further on this and much more including her relationship with Prince Segun Oniru, when ENCOMIUM Weekly visited her at her Oniru, Lagos residence on Friday, January 22, 2016.
What is happening to you and your career at the moment?
I have been working a lot. My career is not dead, it has been moving and has been very successful.
How will you describe the movie industry right now, is it progressing or otherwise?
Of course, the industry has been progressing, everything is working well the way we want it to be.
You have lost weight in recent times, why?
I have been working too much lately. I just got back this morning from a movie shoot so, basically, it has been too much work.
Were you not comfortable with your former stature?
No, I have always been okay with my stature. Whether you are slim, fat, tall or short, that is how God created you. If someone that is fat and wants to reduce, can go to the gym, but I’m satisfied with my size.
What does piercing your nose add to you as a human being and actress?
To me, I feel it is a regular thing. Moreover, me piercing my nose should not bother anybody because it is my nose.
A lot of people within and outside the industry condemn it, how do you feel about it?
I’m not bothered about what people say. After all, people pierce different parts of their bodies and no one is talking about it. I do what I feel like doing so, anybody condemning it is wasting his time because I do what I feel like doing. So, whether you like it or not it is what I feel like doing and I have done it.
A lot of your fans have been expecting you to get married all this while, has it been difficult doing that?
Even if I will settle down, it is not for the public to know because I am a very private person when it comes to my life. Even though I have people I have dated in the past, I have someone I’m dating right now. But I do not want the public to be part of my private life.
Is there a man rocking your world at this moment, can you unveil the man?
Why won’t there be a man? (laughs) There must be a man, so there is a man.
What are the qualities that attracted you to him?
He got attracted to me and he came for me.
What is your relationship with Prince Segun Oniru. There is a rumour that you are in love with him?
Prince Segun Oniru is a very, very good daddy. We call him our daddy both in the movie and music industry. He is a wonderful father. He is a good man with a large heart. He is a cheerful giver. I like him so much. He is a father to everybody in the industry.
Prince Aremo Adesegun Oniru, is a godfather to me and I am his daughter.
Nowadays, we see actresses from the industry venturing into music, do you also have such plans in future?
No, I do not have such plans. Moreover, I do not have a good voice. I am not done with acting so, let those who can sing do the singing. So, I am leaving the music industry for people like Olamide and Davido, let them continue singing. Music is not my calling.
It’s been a while we saw you in a hit movie, what is happening?
Hit movie? You are making me feel like I do not work every day. Basirat in London is a hit movie, so, do not make me feel like I am not doing my best because I work every day.
Why are your cars white?
It is coincidental, it is not like I had it in mind to buy white cars. The cars just keep coming in white and the next one might be a white car too.
