I have no relationship with late Ghadafi

– Gani Adams denies $22 m fraud

National Coordinator of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams has rubbished the publication in some dailies, accusing him of diverting $22m allegedly collected from late Libyan president, Col. Muamar Ghadafi on behalf of the organization for personal use. He added that there was no relationship whatsoever between himself and the late dictator.
He therefore enjoined the public to disregard the story as there is no iota of truth in it.
In a statement forwarded to encomium.ng on Tuesday, March 14,2016 by Adams’ Personal Assistant, Segun Akanni and signed by Lagos coordinator of the group, Alhaji Mutairu Adesina, the Arigidi Akoko, Ondo born activist washed his hands clean of the alleged fraud which according to him can’t be substantiated.
The statement reads, “On the 22 m dollar allegedly received from Ghadafi, I would love to ask these people three fundamental questions: What was the account through which the money was paid? What the money was meant for? Was the money meant for the promotion of Yoruba culture and tradition when Ghadafi was an Arab man?
“So, there was no relationship at all between Gani Adams and Ghadafi. So, it‘s a false allegation. And we will seek redress in court. Enough is enough!”
