Hon Abike Dabiri, the Special Adviser to the President on Diaspora and former three-term member of House of Representatives said it is not impossible to seek another elective post in 2019. She spoke to encomium.ng after the state congress of APC in Lagos on Saturday, May 19, 2018…
What is your impression of today’s state congress?
A- It was a good outing. Lagos is one united party. We thank God for the leadership of Asiwaju Tinubu. Lagos has shown the way. One good thing about the whole exercise is that there was no violence. It is about the people and Lagos has shown the way.
Are you aware that there is a parallel state Congress said to have taken place at Airport Hotel, Ikeja?
A- I am not aware. Even if there is, they are just jokers.
The rumour going around is that those of you from Lagos state but holding political office in Abuja are behind it.
A- But you saw me at Acme. I am not aware. All I know is that we have one party and we are happy.
Your friend and former colleague in the House of Representatives, Hon Jumoke Okoya – Thomas is now the State Women Leader. What is your take on this ?
A- I think she will bring dynamism to that position . Women are not only about singing and dancing but about adding more value to the system. It is about been able to bring all women from different strata, from the grassroots, elite coming together to participate in politics and in improving our society.
What about you? Is there any likelihood that you will be going for an elective position in 2019?
A- It is not impossible but I’m not worried about that now. I have a job to do and am doing it. But it is a possibility.
