PRETTY actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, otherwise known as Omo logbalogba has cried out that she has never savoured any romance with Laide Bakare’s new husband, Alhaji Tunde Oriowo, let along getting a Range Rover jeep gift from him. She described the tale as nothing but a cheap blackmail.
Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Saturday, May 18, 2013, the Ilesa, Osun State born thespian expressed discomfort about the tale, labeling those sponsoring it as worthless individuals.
“I have heard about it also, it’s rubbish and a mere speculation. To start with, I don’t know the man they are talking about. I have never met him, let alone dating him. So, how could he have bought a Range Rover jeep for me? I think you know all my cars, they are still in my compound now. Had it been I am not going out now, I should have invited you to my house and see the Range Rover jeep, with customized registration number, B10. Nobody bought the jeep for me, let alone withdrawing it for Laide Bakare. It’s even senseless for anybody to have imagined that.
“Fine, Laide Bakare is a sister, friend and colleague but I have never met her husband let alone dating him. It’s just a cheap blackmail.”
Asked to shed light on the rumour that Alhaji Oriowo also provided her a tastefully furnished accommodation in Magodo, Lagos, but she was later sent packing when their alleged juicy dalliance turned sour, she said, “I have told you, there is nothing like that between myself and Laide Bakare’s husband. I rented my apartment with my money long ago. That’s the same house I am still living. Thank God you also came to my daughter’s naming ceremony. Some people are just interested in peddling useless rumour. I don’t know the man from Adam, I don’t even know his name. Nobody rented the duplex for me, and I can’t be ejected by anybody.
“I don’t want any problem for myself anymore. People should just allow me rest. Ordinarily, I should have asked you to direct your findings to my publicist, Femi Davies, but I don’t want you to think I am trying to avoid you. That’s why I responded to your questions,” she concluded.
When we contacted Laide Bakare on Sunday, May 19, 2013, she said, “My husband doesn’t know Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, and I believe him. He was not even the one that bought mine. But anybody can choose to believe whatever.”
