+ plans superlative 80th birthday for mom

Bidemi Olukuewu is a prolific independent broadcaster, voice-over artiste and actress. The beautiful, kind, humble and amiable lady spoke to ENCOMIUM Weekly on her 15 years experience on the job, why she wants to celebrate her mother @ 80, the man in her life, among others.

Could you share your experience on the job with us?
I have 15 years experience. I started with Radio Nigeria 3 and worked with Mainframe Productions of Tunde Kelani. I also worked with the late Alade Aromire as a presenter. Yotomi Television shot me into the limelight. I was not collecting salary from Alade Aromire but he gave me an avenue to make contact and money for myself. In 2002, I met Olaoye Global Concept, a marketer and was working for him as a presenter. From there, Jide Morounfolu travelled to South Africa, he called me to present his programme on LTV pending the time he would return. While presenting Jide’s programme, Adesqueen, who liked my presentation also called me to present her programme while she left Nigeria.
After Adesqueen, I got an offer to present for Olatunde Special which I did for eight years. While working for Olatunde, I was also presenting my own personal

Through him, I met a lot of big personalities. While presenting Gbankangbi, I met K1 in 2005, he was a guest on my programme. Other guests on my programme then included Iya Rainbow, Pasuma, Sule Alao Malaika, among others.
I also presented Opon Ara on Radio Lagos for nine years. It was my own personal programme. I’ve also presented programme with Gbenga Adewusi(Bayowa) on Radio Lagos and other radio stations. I’ve equally worked with Odua TV. As a voice-over artiste, I’m a member of Association of Voice-over Artistes of Nigeria. I’ve worked with a lot of corporate companies and filmmakers. I’m an actress, I acted in A’femi and Okun Ifa where I featured alongside Laide Bakare. I’ve also featured in Moji Olaiya’s movie. I have a daughter who acts. She is also a voice-over artiste and in SSS1.
