‘I was not sacked, I completed my two terms’ – DR. FEMI OKE-OSANYINTOLU

Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, the former General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), has said he was not sacked by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode but was redeployed back to the Ministry of Health after completing his two terms of five years each.

Dr. Osanyintolu, in an exclusive interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly said he was the pioneer General Manager of the agency and was there for 10 years.

When asked about his achievements and challenges at the agency in the last 10 years, this was his response: “My brother, I am now a civil servant and I am not supposed to grant any expressive interview without permission from my boss.

“When I granted an interview at LASEMA, I was a political office holder, but now I am back in the civil service. I cannot grant any interview.

“I hope you understand.  Thank you.”

ENCOMIUM Weekly gathered that Dr. Osanyintolu is now at Lagos State Accidents Emergency Centre, Old Toll Gate 7-Up, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu is a medical doctor.  He graduated from University of Ilorin, Kwara State in 1991.  He was at Sourasky Medical Centre, Tel Aviv, Israel in 1998, for further professional training and qualifications.  He was at Coventry University, UK in 2006, for his M.Sc in Disaster Management.

Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu’s replacement was announced on Monday, July 6, 2015.  His name is Mr. Michael Kolawole Akindele.  Mr. Akindele was a former Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government Council, as well as Special Assistant on Health to former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu between 2004 and 2007.  He also served as Senior Special Assistant on LASEMA between 2007 and 2011.

Akindele, between 2011 and 2015, served as Senior Special Assistant on Housing to the immediate past governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN).
