Former Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, 74, this evening (Wednesday, June 8), finally debunked the rumour of his death as he spoke to journalists on a Television Continental (TVC) programme, Journalists’ Hangout ‘.
He told them when he called in from Germany that he’s alive. That he’s not dead as being speculated.
The programme was aired around 5 and 6 pm.
Those close to the dictator who ruled between 1985 and 1993 had indicated that he was willing to kill the tale about his death later today through tele-conference.
The widower who has troubles with one of his limbs is said to be in Germany where he had earlier had corrective surgery.
And rumour of his death has been flying for weeks but gained momentum this morning. Now, the wings of the speculation is clipped.
