Inspector-General of Police, Solomon E. Arase, has deployed new Commissioners of Police to Lagos,Rivers and Ogun states, and some other Force Headquarters’ formations.
The transfer of the CPs, encomium.ng gathered, has everything to do with the alarming rate of armed robbery cases in the states.
“It is expected that the new postings will reverse the crime wave in the affected states,while also strengthening administration in the affected strategic Force Headquarters formations”, Deputy Force Public Relations Officer,CSP Abayomi Shogunle,said in a statement issued this evening (Thursday, July 2) in Abuja.
According to the release, Ajani Fatai Owoseni is now the CP, Lagos State Command; CP Chris Ezike was also moved to Rivers state; while CP Abdulmajid Ali is now in charge of Ogun State Police Command.
Similarly,CP Dan Bature has been deployed to Intelligence FCIID FHQ, Abuja, while Valentine U Ntomchukwu is new CP Admin Dept of Logistics & Supply, FHQ, Abuja.

The IGP’s new postings, security experts told encomium.ng, would arrest the rising crime rate in the Lagos-Ogun axis of Police Zone 2 with more effective intelligence support and coordination from the re-energized Force Headquarters formations.
