‘I’m not blind’ –Pa Kasumu

Veteran actor, Kayode Odumosu, better addressed as Pa Kasumu has rubbished the tale that he has lost his sight due to his protracted ailment. He added that all is well as far as his sight is concerned but still needs to visit India again for thorough medical checks and comprehensive treatment.

The Odogbolu, Ogun state theatre practitioner spoke on this and other issues including why he’s still Ibafo, Ogun residence at the moment and much more in a phone chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, October 13, 2016.

It’s quite long we had a chat with you, how is your health now?

I give gory to God.

But the tale is that you have lost your sight totally?

There’s nothing like that. I have not lost my sight. Maybe because some people may have not seen me recently, that’s why they are saying that.

When last were you on a movie set, we mean recently?

I took part in a movie in Ijede area, Ikorodu, Lagos in June this year. That’s all I did this year. But last year, I did two movies.

That means there is nothing wrong with your sight as being bandied?

Yes, but not that I am fully fit but much better. I thank God for that.

You featuring in just one movie this year, does it mean your colleagues are not aware you’re back on stage?

No, they’re aware I am back on stage.

But why are they not inviting you for jobs or is it because of the ongoing recession which is also affecting the industry?

Not that they don’t want to invite me but just as you said, recession is really affecting us, maybe that’s why I don’t really get scripts after bouncing back.

But the last time we had a chat, you told us you still need to go back for comprehensive medical checks and further treatment, have you done that?

No, I have not been able to embark on the trip.

Why?

I have lost my travelling document, and I have been trying to procure another one. If at all I get that now, I don’t have the money to travel. But any time God blesses me, I will surely do that.

Are you still in Abeokuta, Ogun state, we mean, your new house?

No, I am in my residence in Ibafo, Ogun state.

Why? Have you abandoned the house in Abeokuta?

No, I have not abandoned it. Why will I abandon it? I still live there. I am only in Ibafo here for a while, I will soon go back to my house in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
