‘I’m ready to break barriers to have my throne in music industry’ – IKON-X

The music scene in Nigeria has experienced great styles in both fledgling and hoary. In Nigeria today, it takes a lot of vibes, rhythms and energetic dancing steps of an artiste to win the heart of the public. On this note, Nigeria music industry has been witnessing new advents, new entertainers.
The emergence of a unique and vivacious Ikechukwu Uchenna Okpala a.k.a IKON-X is amazing. From Orumba Isulo, South Local Government of Anambra state. Okpala is a graduate of Mass Communication from Federal Polytechnic, Oko. The very expressive lyricist and highlife/reggae artiste was born April 5, 1993 and started his journey into music in 2008 under the supervision of Sir Bon Ibekwe, C.E.O of AZ Entertainments.
However, his new single entitled ‘MAMA AFRICA’ seems to be what hasten his coming to limelight. The single which is massively enjoying air play has risen to third position on Beat FM morning rush with over 6,000 downloads on social media. MAMA AFRICA has been the fieriest appeal for Nigerian hip-hop paramours. With this turnaround, AZ Entertainments had just shot a video for MAMA AFRICA; that was produced by Jiggy Jegg and directed by Clinton Ray. Sharing his visions in a conversation with journalists at his Lagos studio, “I am very happy and fulfilled having AZ Entertainments as my record label. My boss, Sir Bon Ibekwe is God sent. He gave me a platform to exhibits my God given talent, all has been rosy and cozy and I am ready to break barriers to have my throne in the music industry. We faced lots of challenges when shooting MAMA AFRICA video but, we conquered with help of God through my boss AZ Entertainment himself, I pray God should preserve and uphold him to eat the fruit of his labour.’.
Ikon-X has worked with Nigerian artistes like; Solid star, Rock Steady, Henry Knight, Mr 2Kay et al.
