I’m staying for Euro 2016 – De Gea says, denies rape involvement

Spain goalkeeper, David De Gea has ended speculation that he was set to be axed from the Euro 2016 squad after an unnamed witness named him in a rape.

A protected witness had implicated him in a Spanish court case, along with his former Spain Under-21 teammate Iker Muniain.

“Ignore the story, it’s a falsehood, a lie. Everything that has been coming out is false totally. I’m a very chilled out guy, and not many things get to me. When something is not true, it doesn’t bother me. I just want to get on with training and doing my Job. It’s in the hands of my lawyers. I know what I’ve done and this is all false, there’s not much more to add.” De Gea said.
