‘It’s friendship at first sight’

–               CHUKUEKU GBONEME

GETTING the couple to utter a word was as hard as the camel passing through the eye of a needle.  The groom, however, gave our appeal to get a word or two from him at exactly 9.49 p.m.  Chukueku ended up telling us a part of their exciting love story which began in 2010.  He also revealed what attracted him to Uchenna Ezenna.

DSC_0688How does it feel to get married today?

I’m excited. It’s fantastic and beyond my wildest dream.

Was it love at first sight?

Oh, it was actually friendship at first sight before it developed to love (laughs).

So, what do you cherish most about your wife?

She’s humble, caring and loving.  She’s the best human being I’ve known in my life.  She’s my best friend.

Today marks a special day in your life with many prominent Nigerians honouring you.  Are you not excited by this privilege?

I’m blessed to have parents and in-laws that are people of integrity whom people would always honour their invitation no matter where they are.

And what about your father-in-law, Sir Tony Ezenna?

I love my father-in-law.  He’s a wonderful man.  He’s now like my father.

Can you please tell us your love story?

We’ve been dating for four years now because we met in 2010.

How did you propose to her?

That’s our private life.

What did you study?

I studied Economics. I also have a Masters degree in another discipline.

‘I pray God keeps us together’

– UCHENNA EZENNA

THE bride, billionaire Tony Ezenna’s daughter, also spoke with ENCOMIUM Weekly.  Though she parried over most of the questions we asked.

DSC_0660You are obviously happy as you wed today?

Yes, I feel happy and thank God Almighty for His mercies.  I’m very excited.

What’s your prayer for this marriage?

That God should always keep us together.

Your husband said you are his best friend and the best to happen to him.  He also said it was more like friendship at first sight. Do you feel the same?

He actually said my mind (laughs).  I feel the same way.

Interestingly, the crème de la crème of society graced your wedding…

I’m so happy for that. I think it’s a privilege.

Where are you guys going for honeymoon?

We’ve not yet decided on that.

Your parents have been quite supportive?

I have the best mom and dad in the world.  My family is the best.  And I really appreciate their love and care.

You dated for four years, how did he propose?

Please, ask him.
