Following his continued detention by police, two clear days after he was arrested for allegedly stealing 9 iPhone handsets worth over N2 million, movie marketer and socialite Seun Egbeegbe may eventually be arraigned, with the possibility of a three year jail term if found guilty.
Yesterday (Wednesday, November 23, 2016) afternoon when Encomium.ng reporter visited Area F Police Command in GRA Ikeja (Lagos), sources confirmed that the estranged lover of Nollywood star actress Toyin Aimakhu was still in custody. And we saw two of his boys hanging around.
The source told Encomium.ng that the case against Seun Egbeegbe was strong following his arrest on Tuesday, November 22, at Computer Village (Ikeja, Lagos) where he was accused of trying to run away after collecting seven iPhone 6 and two iPhone 7 from a sales boy at 9, Medical Road. He was apprehended as he tried to escape in his jeep. Battered and bloodied, pictures with Egbeegbe holding the handsets flooded the Internet.
With police from Area F summoned, he was ferried to the Command on Oba Akinjobi, GRA Ikeja, following the 10:30 am incident.
His excuse that he wanted to take over N2 million from his vehicle to pay for the phones before he was wrongly accused has no sympathy.
Reports have it that the Lagos Police Command, which confirmed his detention, will address the press today (Thursday, November 24)
