‘It feels wonderful to be a father’’ – K.SOLO

Popular artiste and producer, K.Solo is basking in the euphoria of fatherhood. The talented dude welcomed a baby boy on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

ENCOMIUM Weekly had an interview with him on the joys of fatherhood…

Congratulations! How does it feel to be a father?

This is my first child. I have never told anybody that I have a child. It is my first time and it feels wonderful, especially when you were with your wife for nine months and you went into the labour room with her. She came out with her baby. It can only be God. It is only God that can do that for anybody.

Was there any challenging situation in the process?

When a woman is in labour, I used to think she will just push and the baby will come out, but it’s different. I now appreciate women more. I know it is not easy. It is only God that can do it. A lot of women went in there and some didn’t come back alive. I am really grateful.

How will you describe the experience in the labour room?

She wasn’t troublesome. I thank God she has the right hormones. The process took time but God showed up and took control. Like I said, it has made me appreciate women more. I have learnt that it is God that can do all things. At a point, she said, I don’t think I can do this again. Even the nurses wanted to give up at a point, but God took control and she gave birth like the Hebrew women.

What is the best thing about being a dad?

I now know I have so many responsibilities. A life is attached to me now. I have no other option than to sit down and make my baby and wife comfortable. It is really a wonderful feeling.

What will change about you now that you are a dad?

Nothing will change about me. I will continue to be a good dad and a good husband. I have been doing this work for a while now. I was involved when she was pregnant. I was at the labour room. While I was in the labour room, I brought out my phone and recorded it. I promised her I will record it when she was in labour and I fulfilled my promise.

At first, the nurse wanted to prevent me from going into the labour room because a man went in there and fainted when he saw blood. It was really amazing seeing her bringing forth another life.

What sex is your baby?

A boy.

How are mother and baby doing?

They are in good state of health. Some minutes ago, Tope Alabi came in to see them and she was like, God is awesome. I am grateful. They are doing very well.

When exactly did she have her baby?

That’s on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at a private hospital in Lagos. It happened around 4am.

How many more should we expect?

Just one more, that is all. Gone are the days people give birth to seven children. You have to cater well for your family. The economic situation of the country is no longer healthy. You need to plan well. I know what we went through while growing up. We had to manage at a stage but that helped to build us to what we are today.

What name are you giving him?

I would not reveal that yet.
